Experience a day in the life of an apiarist with our new beekeeping and honey tasting excursion.

Beginning at the Discover Ojai Center, you will meet with our resident beekeeper for a brief
introduction on our most vital pollinators, the European honeybee. Enjoy the beautiful Ojai vistas
as we escort you to our bee yard in the heart of Mistletoe Meadows.

Once you arrive, you will
experience firsthand how it feels to be inside an apiary and learn about the extraordinary life of
the honeybee. The excursion will conclude with a honey tasting of local, raw honey in a beautiful and serene setting.

Kids will enjoy the spiral slide and jungle gym, and the spacious grass yard will be set with cornhole, ladder ball, and bocce ball. We are pleased to partner with Ojai Raptor Center, a local non-profit organization, to offer private experiences for our guests to visit and meet the ambassadors. Guests will enjoy a short walk around the facility to see the largest aviary for raptors in rehabilitation in California. As the tour progresses, you will meet three Ojai Raptor Center ambassadors, and receive an All About Owls presentation. Proceeds from this experience help further the Ojai Raptor Center’s mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and release of birds of prey and other wildlife.

All About Owls

Whooooo isn’t fascinated by owls? Learn all about these unique creatures, and meet three of ORC’s ambassador owls. This program includes a fun six page activity workbook for kids to take home with concepts and vocabulary introduced in the program.

$285 per private group (2-10 guests). Approximately 60 minutes. Advance reservations are required and can be made by calling (866) 887-4007. Guests are required to wear face coverings during the experience. Wearing comfortable, closed toe shoes is recommended.

The Ojai Raptor Center (ORC) is a state and federally permitted 501(c)(3) non-profit wildlife rehabilitation center dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of birds of prey and other wildlife, and to providing education programs about wildlife and our shared environment. Ojai Raptor Center receives over 1,000 sick, injured, and orphaned wild patients a year and has a small team of education ambassadors, or non-releasable birds, trained for education outreach.

Join us for an expertly guided 2-hour hike through the Valley View Preserve via The Shelf Road Trail. The trail ascends into the coastal preserve mountains providing hikers with a scenic view of the Ojai Valley.

Group hikes include round-trip transportation from Spa Ojai to the trail head, bottled water, and a snack. Please contact Spa Reservations at 888.772.6524 to book your reservation in advance. Guests must be at least 10 years old to participate. A minimum of 2 guests and maximum of 5 guests must register or the hike may be cancelled.
