Born and raised in Santa Barbara, Joe’s lifelong connection to golf began on the fairways of the central coast where his parents first taught him to play. His journey with the game eventually took him across the Pacific Ocean, where he played Division II collegiate golf for Hawaii Pacific University.

Having spent the last twenty years mastering his own game, Joe now dedicates himself to the art of coaching, with a strong focus on nurturing and developing junior golfers. Along the way, he has been mentored by top-100 PGA teaching professionals from legendary clubs like Congressional Country Club and The Vintage Club—insights he now brings to our own practice facilities.

As a PGA Associate, Joe’s true motivation is simple: sharing his genuine love and passion for the game with players of all ages and skill levels. Whether you are picking up a club for the first time or looking to fine-tune your swing, Joe brings an encouraging, thoughtful approach to every lesson.

Mr. Doerr oversees all of the golf operations and brings over 25 years of experience at some of the leading facilities in the industry, including several in the Southern California area. He has been involved in both resort and private clubs, serving as General Manager at the PGA WEST Greg Norman Course and The Citrus Club at La Quinta Resort, and also as Director of Golf at La Costa Resort and Spa. He has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from California State University, Chico and has been a Class A member of the PGA of America since 1999.
