It is truly all about place in combination with the highest quality fruit and letting the varietal and regional typicity of the wine shine through from vineyard to glass... liquid from farming.

Liquid Farm allows wines to develop on their own with little intervention, minimal, or no new oak and use no additives or machines to manipulate the wines inherent personality. The winemakers are committed to blending from the handful of special vineyards they work with in the small AVA of Santa Rita Hills to produce a collection of Chardonnays that are markedly different expressions, but with the same thread of intense minerality and salinity they started with in the vineyard.

Opening its doors in 2009, Flour + Water showcases a menu influenced by regions across Italy with a distinctly Northern Californian influence, led by Co-Chefs Thomas McNaughton and Ryan Pollnow. With a menu that changes daily, the heart of the food program focuses on fresh, handmade pastas formed at Flour + Water Pasta Shop along with Neapolitan-style pizzas and seasonal antipasti.

Alongside wine pairings curated by Sam Bogue, the evening will also celebrate the release of two new expressions of Champagne Krug. The cornerstone of Krug’s savoir faire is “l’Individualité”, the art of treating each individual plot of vines as a single and unique ingredient in Krug Champagne through the wine it yields.

Each year Krug honors this philosophy by paying tribute to a humble single ingredient. For 2023, Krug celebrates the lemon. The lemon has a vibrant taste that brings tension and balance to pairings of dishes with Krug Grande Cuvée 171st edition and Krug Rosé 27th edition.

For one special evening, The Farmhouse will play host to a pair of legends in the culinary world. Nancy Silverton (Pizzeria Mozza, Osteria Mozza, chi SPACCA) has authored 11 cookbooks, been credited with popularizing sourdough and artisan breads in the United States, garnered praise from the Michelin Guide, The James Beard Foundation (Outstanding Chef Award, 2014), and beyond, and is undeniably one of the most beloved chefs of our lifetime.

As a native Californian, Jonathan Waxman grew up in a family that celebrated the culinary arts. After receiving the Grand Diplôme from La Varenne Cooking School in Paris, he moved back to California to work at Domaine Chandon and then with Alice Waters at the legendary Chez Panisse. In 1979, he became the executive chef of Michael’s in Santa Monica, where he developed his version of California cuisine. He made his mark on New York in 1984 with the now iconic Jams. Today, Waxman is the chef/owner of Barbuto in Manhattan’s West Village, Jams at 1 Hotel Central Park, and Baffi in Atlanta. He is the recipient of many accolades, highlighted by the 2016 James Beard Award for Best Chef: New York City.

The evening includes a multi-course family style menu from Silverton and Waxman, paired with wines from the Inn’s award-winning cellar. Exclusive of service charge and tax.
